We watched the Virtue Series on Foresight and Docility 
We corrected and discussed the Top 20 List done Friday for Session 17.  Focusing on the Agony of the Garden and Moral Choices.  We turned this in after to the Friday post from 4/30.  
After, we did a video round robin discussion to begin to prepare for our upcoming quiz.  Videos included Last Supper, the Garden, the Eucharist, Decision Making, and Consequences. 
Finally, students worked on Session 16 and 17 review due Thursday (on google classroom)

We corrected and turned in unit 3 packet 
We read and discussed S16 about the Eucharist p. 136-139
We worked with a partner to create a word collage in our ebinder Class Notes about the Eucharist, using Session 16 as a resource. 30 words. 
We then read an article posted on Google Classroom about Christian Symbols, we wrote a paragraph to summarize the article.  This was turned in on google classroom. 
Finally, students wrote a modified acrostic poem about the Eucharist using the word Transubstantiation as our acrostic word.  Students then drew four symbols for christianity on their acrostic poster.  
 
*If you were absent, you can complete just the Word Collage as the assignment for the day, as the acrostic poem may be difficult to understand if not in class.  
 
*The assignments are due on Tuesday for students.

We continued our Virtues Series with a video about the virtues we receive in Baptism.
We turned in p. 122 to the bin.
We reviewed about forgiveness and healing as a class.
We listed the 12 Apostles and listened to a breakdown of each Apostle. (borrow notes from a friend if you were absent). 
Finally, we reviewed Unit 3 as we concluded the information from the unit on Wednesday last week.  Students are to complete the Unit 3 packet, it is due on Thursday at the start of class.

Students turned in their Virtue Summary from the previous class.
We read and discuss p. 116-119 about Forgiveness and Healing together.
After, students completed a top 20 list (complete sentences) in their ebinder with a partner.
We corrected the Top 20 list together.  
After, I explained the Choice Assignment in Google Classroom for today.  Students could choose to summarize their understanding of Session 14 through a virtual quadtopic poster or a google slideshow presentation.

Students worked together on review questions and vocabulary review from Session 13 on p. 114 in their textbook.  This was turned in when finished.
After, students took the Session 13 quiz via Google Classroom.  This is due for anyone absent by 4/23.  
 
Then, we watched a video on Cardinal Virtues and Hope, students completed a formal summary of the video.  This is due Thursday at the beginning of class.  Absent students below are the videos, but you can also independently research the topics and create a summary if you wish to.

Students made sure their Virtual Beatitude Poster was turned in on Google Classroom. 
We read and highlighted p. 110-111 in our text book focusing on Parables and the Kingdom of God
We took notes on the two parables: Mustard Seed and the Lost Sheep 
We listened to a podcast about Heaven 
Students then completed a "meaning poster", students were given 4 topics and they had to draw a picture of their understanding of the meaning of each topic. 
The topics are: Parable of the Mustard Seed, Parable of the Lost Sheep, Kingdom of God on Earth, and Kingdom of God in Heaven
 
**If you were absent, and the meaning poster is confusing, you are able to do a top 15 list on p. 110-111 instead.  
 
This poster is due on Tuesday

Today in class.....
We turned in our quad topic about Lent and our Year in Review slideshow from last week's homeroom time. 
We read p. 108 and 109: focusing on the Sermon on the Mount, Beatitudes, and comparing them to the 10 Commandments
We wrote ten facts in our ebinder from our reading and discussed them together.  
We watched a retell on the 10 commandments story and the Sermon on the Mount 
We copied the Beatitudes from p. 108 down in our scripture tab of our purple binder, and copied our Commandments down from p. 268
We worked in groups to complete a quick Venn Diagram comparing the 10 Commandments and 8 Beatitudes
 
Finally, students had time to finish their assignment for the day.  The directions are on google classroom, Virtual Beatitudes Poster post.  This is due on Thursday.

After, we read p. 102-103 and highlighted why and how Jesus gave us the Sacraments, as well as, focused on the physical and spiritual signs of each of the seven sacraments.
We then watched a series about the seven sacraments called Sacraments 101, taking 5 notes per sacrament.  This will help make our mini flip books on Friday.

We started with our Lenten Reflection
After, we corrected the top 15 list from Friday over p. 94-97.  They turned in the Top 15 list on google classroom and posted their scores in a private comment. 
Then, students prepared for their Session 11 quiz by completing p. 98 (crossword and vocabulary words) 
Students then could  handwrite a one page study guide to use on their quiz.  They were advised to reread and highlight important information from p. 92-97 and then create their study guide with any information they feel may be important to remember.  We went through main topics of the Session on the board.  Directions are on google classroom. 
When they finished the book review and study guide, they were advised to check their grades on PS to make up any missing assignments.  
The study guide is due on Friday for the quiz, and will be turned in Tuesday.

Students participated in the Stations of the Cross.
After, students wrote Faith Journal responses, which was a Lenten Edition of our faith journals.
This is on google classroom and is due on Thursday for both classes.
Students then had time to work on Bonus opportunities or check in on their Religion grades for missing assignments.  
 
**Due to practicing for mass, 7-4-BD only has to answer four questions of their choosing on the Faith Journal from today. 
**Looking ahead, there will be a quiz Friday, 3/12 over session 11.  Students were notified of this today.  A review will be worked on on Thursday.

After, we began Unit 3 about Jesus' ministry.  
We read a summary of the purpose of the Gospels, and then learned about Jesus' baptism and temptation in the desert.  
Students took outline notes after our discussion over p. 92-93, this was checked in at the end of class. 
After, student completed the still shot Jesus in the Desert assignment, directions are posted in google classroom.  It is due on Friday.

We reviewed unit 2, before moving on to unit 3. 
We began class with our lenten reflection.  
After, students worked in pairs to make a word collage in their purple binder about Session 6, 7, 8 and 9.  They wrote 15 words per session that were important.  
Finally, students had time to work on their Unit 2 packet which included Bible searches, goal setting, and a review over unit 2.  This is due on Thursday.

Students made sure their Family Word Cloud is turned in on Google Classroom. 
Students wrote the answers to their Session 9 Review (this has to be written as they are using this as a tool for their Session 9 Open Review quiz on Friday) This is due on Friday. 
After, students completed p. 78 in their textbook (did not do Now What) This is assigned as classwork and is not homework. 
Students then had free time to study as they wished.  
 
Their session 9 quiz is on Friday, 2/26 and they are able to use their written review on the quiz.

2. Read p. 74 and 75 as a class
3. Read Mark 3:31-35 about Jesus' idea of family and the goal of the family. 
4. Complete a Top 15 list in your Ebinder Class Notes Google Slide, these are complete sentences about p. 74-75.
5. Corrected it as a class.
6. Sketched our nuclear family and chose attributes for our family members, shared with a partner.  
7. Completed the Word Cloud assignment posted on Google Classroom, this is due on Thursday.

Today in class..
 
Students checked in their Jesus Journal from the past 3 weeks of class.  After, they began their lenten lyrical reflection. 
Students then worked in small groups to compare two of the four Gospels using a summary text of the New Testament.  
Finally, students chose a specific chapter and read the summary for Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.  They created a summary quad poster where they drew a small picture and wrote three facts about the information.  
This Gospel Poster is due tomorrow during religion hour, I will be around the classes to collect them.

Students did their final entry in their Jesus Calling Journal.  
After, they learned about the Passion Play organized by Mrs. Myers.  A video went out to parents.  
We learned about Jesus in the Temple.  They took guided notes together in class.  
They watched a video to summarize the story.  
For the assignment students used Google Drawing to draw 5 facts about the story of Jesus in the Temple.
After, they researched and wrote a paragraph about an appropriate topic that interests them.  Both assignments' directions can be found on Google Classroom.
The assignments are due on Friday.

Students had time to study and then took their session 7 quiz.  This was posted on google classroom.  
 
Students turned in their session 7 reviews prior to the quiz.  
Students also turned in their bonus worksheets for quarter 2 today.  No late bonus worksheets can be accepted. 
 
After the quiz, students had time to finish their faith journal for session 7. Found in their Monday or Tuesday independent work list. This is not homework, and will be turned in after completion on Tuesday or Wednesday next week.  
 
Today is the last day of the quarter, with that being said, students have had a mini conference with me on Wednesday or Thursday this week to discuss their grade.  Any late assignments for quarter 2 must be turned into me by Wednesday, 1/20 for grading purposes.

We began by praying the Lectio Divina, focusing on the Great Commandment. 

After, Students watched a short clip on the important concepts from Jesus' life. 

We focused on the attitude and actions of Jesus while he was alive.

Students made a timeline, if you were absent, you can use google docs.  

 

You will research 10 events about Jesus.

2 can be from his early life. 

5 from his Ministry (where he preached and performed miracles)

3 can be from his late life.

For each event have a one word title and a 3 sentence summary of the event.  

 

Students turned in what they had finished at the end of the hour.  There is no homework today.

Students watched videos about various communication styles from God and various names of Jesus. 
After, students corrected and electronically turned in their top 15 list from Friday.  
Students then had time to work on their Session 7 Review, posted on google classroom.  This is due on Friday, with their quiz.  
 
Students also turned in the list of assignments from google classroom from Tuesday.  They were given their final-ish grade for the quarter as well during a teacher student conference.

Today in Class...
 
Students completed Day 8 of their Advent Journal.
 
Students read p. 56 and p. 57 in their textbook.  While reading, students identified names for Jesus throughout the reading.  This can be done in your google slides notes or in your purple binder.  Ex. Names for Jesus include: Son of David, Emmanuel etc.  There are 8 in total.  
 
After, students read p. 60 and looked up the meaning of their name.  
 
Students then made 4 boxes.  In box #1 they wrote their name, drew a picture of the meaning of it and and wrote the meaning of it.  In box #2-4 they chose names for Jesus, wrote the name at the top, drew a picture of it, and wrote a phrase to explain why we call Jesus this.  
 
This will continue to be worked on Tuesday in class.

Today in Class...
 
Students continued their Advent/Christmas Season Journal Day 7.  These will continue on through this week and will be checked in for a grade next week.  
 
After students completed a Bible Timeline and Psalm Bible Search with a partner.  
 
For the Bible Basic Timeline...students wrote down 10 words that described the event in Scripture. (If you were absent today, 5 words per event is fine)  
 
For the Psalm: They used the verse to come up with an action that can complete the statement "I will...."
Example: "I shall seek you earnestly" Psalm 63:1 ....can be translated to "I will look for you in all that I do" or "I will always remember You are near me" 
 
**If you were absent, the worksheet was posted in google classroom as an announcement.

Today in Class...
 
We started with Advent Reflection Day 5 prompts.  
 
Students finished their Session 6 Review and turned it into the bin. 
Students also took the Session 6 Quiz that is posted on google Classroom.  All students need to have this quiz taken by Friday, 12/18.  
 
After the quiz, students copied down the Nicene Creed and decorated it into a prayer poster.  This will count as a bonus worksheet, to turn in the final week of Quarter 2 to help the students' grades.

Today in Class.....
 
Students completed their Advent Journal Day 4.  
 
After, we went over their Top 10 list from Session 6 that was due today.  These were checked in for effort.  
 
Students then completed the tan box on p. 49 where they decided if action of Jesus in the Bible were human or divine.  
 
Then, we watched two short clips on human dignity in the Catholic Church and completed Faith Journal #6 (in google classroom).  This is due on Tuesday, 12/15, but they will have time on Friday to finish if they haven't yet.  
 
Students after began working on p.54 in their textbook, do NOT do the Now What section.  A reminder that their vocabulary can be done in their purple binder, vocab slides in their Ebinder, on notecards or in Quizlit.  This will continued to be worked on on Friday.  
 
A reminder that the students have their Session 6 Quiz on Tuesday, 12/15.

Today in class...
We started with our third Advent reflection in our journal tabs of our purple binder.
After we learned about Blessed Marie of the Incarnation as our "Unit Saint" you can read about her on p. 45-46 
Then we read Session 6 p. 48-51 and wrote 30 fire words in our notes Ebinder. 
Then, students chose 10 firewords and wrote a sentence for each on the next slide in their ebinder.  This was homework if not finished.

Today in class students took their Unit 1 Open Book Test, it is posted on google classroom. 
If anyone was absent today, they have until Wednesday to complete this test.  
 
The study guides the students used on their Test today will be turned in on Monday or Tuesday for all students.  The directions for the study guide are in your previous assignment post.  
 
When finished with the Test, students had time to organize their binders and ebinders for their unit 1 binder check on Monday or Tuesday next week. The directions for this assignment are in google classroom. They will be checked on Monday or Tuesday next week.

Today in Class and Homework: Thursday, 12/3

Today in Class....
Students prepared for their open book Unit 1 Practice Test on Friday, 12/4.  
 
We started class by reading and reflecting from our Advent book.  
 
Students drew 5 pictures, one picture to represent Session 1-5. They were told to think of the pictures as a mural or a book cover for Unit 1. These pictures were colored.  It is due on Friday if they did not finish. 
 
After, students wrote out a one page (front only) study guide with information about Session 1-5 to help them reference the subtopics of each session.  This can be a summary, fire words, or something similar to a table of contents.  This will  be used to help them navigate during their open book test and hopefully not waste time searching the book for the answer to every question.  This is due on Friday, 12/4 and will be turned in with the Unit 1 Test.

We watched two clips about the meaning of Advent and did our first reflection as we prepare for the coming of Jesus.

After, we worked together as we created new Unit 1 Chapter Titles for Session 1-5.  These will be used on Thursday. 

Then, we are writing a Top 25 list (complete sentences)

5 facts per chapter.  Session 1-5, anyone in quarantine or absent can type this assignment and email me for turn in.

Students had time to work on Chapter 5 Review and then prepare for their quiz. This was turned in for effort.  
Students then took the Chapter 5 quiz via google classroom.  ALL students (no matter quarantining,  missing class for mass, or out of town) should have this quiz taken by Tuesday, December 1st at the latest.  If a student needs a different plan, please reach out by Tuesday 11/24 by 3:00 PM.  
Students then had the opportunity to complete a gratitude worksheet as a bonus worksheet.

Today in Class...
 
We finished reading the rest of Session 5 p. 38-39 and took more notes on the material.  We call these fire word notes, and they are just words or short phrases that describe the reading. The main topic of the reading is "The Gospels" 
 
We then worked on the Gospels Presentation assignment.  Directions are in google classroom.  Students chose Matthew, Mark, Luke or John.  They then looked into the Bible and researched to help make slides on the Gospel.  The topic of each slide is seen as the title.  This is due Friday at the beginning of the hour.  
 
If they finished this early, they could start on p. 42 in the book.  This is due Monday or Tuesday.

Today in Class and Homework: Tuesday, 11/17

Today in class...
 
Students read p. 35-37 and came up with a list of 30 important words from the material.  They put this in their virtual Class Notes tab, and made a new slide for Chapter 5.  The two main topics I asked them to think about were Discipleship and Ordinary Time.  
 
After, students were asked to give a list of 10 ways they live out a life of discipleship and 10 ways we as a society could show discipleship better.  They were encouraged to look for stories that "restored" people's faith in humanity for ideas.  
 
Students then listed the 7 Spiritual and 7 Corporal Works of Mercy.  By each work of mercy, students drew and colored a small icon picture that helps represent what that work wants us to do.  For example, Feeding the Hungry icon could be a bowl of soup.  
 
The Disciple List and Works of Mercy Icons are due on Thursday at the start of class.

Students viewed a video that gave two reasons we consider Mary, Our Mother.  
 
After, we broke down the meaning of the prayer Hail, Holy Queen.  The students wrote down this prayer, and will have a fill in the blank PRAYER QUIZ on THURSDAY, 11/12.   
 
We took notes on the definitions of grace, sanctifying grace, actual grace, and habitual grace
 
Students showed their new knowledge of grace through a cartoon that they turned in at the end of the hour. 
 
Students then had time to finish p. 34, excluding Now What.  This is due on Thursday, 11/12.
 
There is a Chapter 4 quiz on Friday, 11/13 for all seventh grade students.

Today in Class....
We read and reflected on the Annunciation and Mary's grace.  
Students read p. 28-31 in their textbooks, they then took notes on the material by writing 20 important facts from the reading in complete sentences.  This was done in the Class Notes Ebinder on Chapter 4 slide.  We corrected this as a class during the class time.  Scores were recorded.  
 
After, students had time to work on their Faith Journal #5.  Each question has directions to follow for it.  This is turned into google classroom when finished.  It is due on Mon 11/9 for AC students and Tuesday 11/10 for BD Students.

**The quarter ends on Friday, this week we are wrapping up our studies for Q1.  
 
Students finished the worksheet from last week on the bible verses that fulfills God's prophecy.  On the back of the worksheet, students drew two pictures showing two promises God has fulfilled throughout time.  This was turned into the bin by the end of the hour.  
 
After, students had time to finish their TWO choice board projects for Quarter 1(choices can be found in google classroom).  They turned these into google classroom when finished.  These are due next class period.  
 
Students then could work on their bonus worksheets that go towards low grades for the quarter.  These are due Friday 10/23.

Today in class....
 
Students turned in their family reflection that was homework, and shared one interesting fact about their family.  
 
After, we did an activity where the students learned the value of trusting and listening to God outside.  
 
We read p. 22 and 23 and took notes about God's Prophecy and Revelation through his fulfillment of promises.  We made a list of examples of how God how has fulfilled promises in the Bible.
 
Students were given a worksheet that asked them to search for Bible Verses of God's prophecy and the fulfillment of that prophecy. 
 
There was no homework at the end of the hour.

Today in class: 
 
Students defined the terms family and genealogy.  
 
We read p. 20 and 21 as a class, took notes on the beginning of Jesus' genealogy, discussed His heavenly family and earthly family.  
 
We then read Matthew 1: 1-17 and identified names in Jesus' genealogy
 
The students then researched five ancestors of Jesus and drew an icon that describes the ancestor in their notes 
 
After, students were assigned a reflection assignment.  Half of the page is a personal reflection on their family history and the other half of the page they were asked to discuss their family's legacy with their parents and summarize that conversation.  There are prompt questions on p. 21 for them to refer back to for the interview.  This is due their next class period.

I will be out on Friday, 10/9 for a procedure...
 
In Friday's class the students will complete a google forms pre test to track their growth over the year in their religious studies.  This is an effort grade and not an accuracy grade. Directions are in google classroom.
 
When they are finished, they will work on a bonus worksheet that they can turn back in the end of the quarter for some extra points.

Today in Class....
Students turned in their I am and God is notecard to the bin.
Students checked in their John the Baptist Outline Notes due today.  
Students watched a video on St. John the Baptist and had our wrap up discussion on his importance to Jesus' story. 
We read p. 14 and 15 and took word collage notes on the Old Testament and New Testament in their ebinder.  
Students discussed how Judaism and Prophets were important concepts of the Old Testament and Jesus' life and the growth of the Church were important concepts of the New Testament.  
After, the students worked on the Word Cloud Bible Breakdown assignment, instructions are posted in google classroom. This is due Friday for all students.

Students completed the Faith Journal #2 in google classroom.  Please follow instructions below.  A summary of the directions are below:
Choose a bible verse from the New Testament
Type the verse on a google doc
State the message God is trying to tell you in this verse 
Apply the message to your own life
Write a prayer about the message that is 4 sentences long 
Turn in in google classroom when complete 
 
We discussed that Jesus came to earth to fulfill God's promise to us and to save us.  We will be learning about this idea of Jesus' earthly life for the next few chapters.  
 
After, we learned how to do outline notes in our purple binders.  Using p. 12 and 13 as our reading material.  Please come see me if you were absent.

We defined the term attribute, then listed God's attributes, remembering that we were made in God's image, and his attributes are stronger than anyone else's. ex. all loving, all powerful, all knowing.  
 
Then we researched values to describe ourselves.  They should have 10 for God and 10 for themselves. 
 
After, students were asked to present their list in a creative way on both sides of a notecard that they turned in when finished.  
 
This is homework if not finished.  A reminder that their John the Baptist outline notes from last week are due on Thursday.

Today in class students took listening notes while hearing a video on the 7 pillars of Catholic Social Teaching.  We reviewed the meaning of each pillar when we were finished.  
 
Then, we corrected our Top 10 list that was due today over Chapter 1 p. 4-7 
 
Students then began to prepare for their Chapter 1 Quiz (Tuesday, 9/22) by finishing p. 10 in their textbook.  They took the topic of each sentence 1-7 and wrote another fact about it.  Then, they defined the vocabulary words under Say what in their vocabulary tab of their binder.  This is homework if not finished.  Due Tuesday, 9/22
 
Their text search assignment (either ten facts on a chosen topic from their textbook or five facts and a picture) should be turned in by Tuesday, 9/22
 
 
*A reminder that their Choice Board work from last Friday is an ongoing activity they can work on but will not be due until the end of first quarter.

In class today,
 
Students read p. 1-7 together in their textbook.  We discussed St. Augustine, the importance of the mystery of the Trinity, and how God the Father is our Creator.  We wrote in our class notes the 7 Catholic Social Teachings found on p. 7 and watched a short clip about why the church has social teachings.  
 
After, students worked on a Top 10 List notes in their ebinder Class notes tab found in their drive.  Students were to write 5 sentences on the main ideas of The Trinity found on p. 4 and 5, and The Creator found on p. 6 and 7.  This is homework if not finished, and is due Thursday.  
 
If they did not finish their text search from last week, we will complete that Thursday in class. 
 
A reminder Choice Board assignments from Friday are not due until the end of the quarter.
