Mrs. Sylvia Trepanier was principal at St. Ladislaus when her HFRS predecessor recommended her to Fr. Strain to become the new principal of Holy Family upon her departure. Mrs. Trepanier spent four years here until her husband's job transferred them to El Paso, TX. She has taught in New York, Texas, and Michigan at many Catholic and public schools. Her teaching career has spanned 41 years.
Her favorite Holy Family story was a past field day where the 7th and 8th graders were able to purchase tickets for the dunk tank. Mrs. Trepanier and an associate priest at the time were supposed to alternate being in the dunk tank. But to her surprise, the priest was nowhere to be found when it was time to climb in. She spent the entire day in the dunk tank. She said the 7th and 8th graders were going wild for the chance to dunk their principal. As one can imagine, she was exhausted by the end of the day.
Mrs. Trepanier said that everyone at Holy Family was very wonderful and that she has many fond memories. “It is with great pride to think I was part of such a distinguished educational institution.” She has since moved back to Michigan and spends her time gardening and golfing.
Thank you, Mrs. Trepanier, for being such a marvelous school principal and guiding light at Holy Family.
