3rd Grade Students Circle Painting featured in ArtPrize Nine

We are so excited to share the great news that our 3rd Grade Students "Circle Painting" is featured in ArtPrize Nine. The students painted the mural in the spring of 2017 when they were in the second grade. The students studied Vietnamese artist and teacher Hiep Nguyen’s circle paintings. All 86 students worked on the painting and completed it in one day. For the first time ever, ArtPrize Nine will feature 26 student-driven collaborative entries from schools across the state of Michigan. Schools and eligible education-based nonprofits serving K-12 youth were invited to participate by entering a collaborative piece, securing a venue and competing for the $5,000 cash prize. The public will get to vote on the winner. The Youth Collaboration Award, sponsored by Western Michigan University, gives K-12 students a platform to exhibit their work for thousands of ArtPrize visitors to view. ArtPrize runs from Sept. 20th - Oct. 8th . Circle Painting will be on display at The Women’s City Club, 254 E. Fulton St., Grand Rapids. If you are headed to the Grand Rapids area, please be sure to visit ArtPrize and cast your vote for Circle Painting! A great big thank you to Mrs. Cheri McEneaney, our North Campus Art Teacher, for making this wonderful experience possible for our students!
