Welcome to Mrs. MeLampy's Classroom Webpage

Welcome to Holy Family School! I am happy to be returning for my ninth year here at Holy Family.  I graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Special Education. I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching the small group classes throughout these many years. Teaching at Holy Family has been a pleasure and a joy and I am looking forward to a great school year!

Dear Students,

HELLO! I really miss seeing your faces each day. No worries though, we will be coming together again on Monday, March 23rd. Using Google Classroom, we will be able to begin working together from our homes. It will be an adventure which we will have together, and I’m so excited to begin.

God Is With Us. You know that in our daily prayer I always pray for you and your parents and family, well I have continued to pray for you each day, even as we have been apart. Be at peace because God is with us and he is taking care of us. He hears  our prayers and knows our worries and concerns. You can give all of our worries to him. Put them right in his hand then thank Him for helping you, and go about your day feeling at peace and safe in God’s care. I am so looking forward to connecting with you on Monday.

4th Grade Students

READING and WRITING - We will begin reading our Author’s in April book, Shine. Using Google Classroom, we will read and discuss the book together, sharing  connections and insights. I will provide specific directions on pacing and post questions for you to consider and respond to. My plan is to provide opportunities for you to share your reflections, questions and respond in writing as the story unfolds. It’ll be fun. Your books were placed in your desks and they are yours to keep, and write in. Yes, you can write your connections, and questions and predictions right in your book! Isn’t that fun?

GRAMMAR - I plan to review some of the sentence diagramming that we have recently learned and practice some new diagrams together. You caught on to diagramming so well, I have some fun ideas about how you can show me your diagramming skills and it involves sidewalk chalk. Stay tuned!

VOCAB - We will work on reviewing and using the vocab words you have learned. I think this is a perfect opportunity to put your awesome writing skills and creativity together. More information on that will be given in Google Classroom beginning Monday.

6th Grade Literature

Your Author's in April books were placed in your lockers. They are yours to keep, so write your names in them. You may even write your connections and questions right in your book. Using Google Classroom, we will read and discuss the book together, sharing  connections and insights. I will provide specific directions on pacing and post questions for you to consider and respond to.

6th Grade English

Also using Google Classroom, we will be focusing on vocabulary, by reviewing the vocab units you have already completed. So you will need your Vocab Workshop books. I’m so sad you all missed the test on Units 7-9, aren’t you? LOL!  I know you would have done great! Unfortunately there won't be time to make that test up. I can hear your cheers right through this chromebook! ;-) We will also focus on writing and some diagramming. I did not put your diagramming binders in your lockers, so don’t worry that you don’t have them. I will provide everything you will need and it will all be a review. We will have some fun with it. Really we will!

Throughout these next few weeks I don’t want you to worry about assignments and due dates. This is a difficult time for everyone and we will all do our best. If you can’t complete something by the due date, don’t worry, we will go forward and help you catch-up. My goal for our time together is for you to continue to learn and grow, have fun and continue to support each other along the way.

I’m so looking forward to beginning on Monday, March 23rd. You will continue to be in my prayers. Please keep me in yours.

God bless you!
