Rooted in faith and designed for the whole child, our Young 5 program provides a gentle, enriching bridge between preschool and kindergarten — nurturing young hearts and minds in the spirit of our Catholic tradition.
Requirements
Children must be 5 years of age by December 31st of the applying year.
Completion of a 4-year-old preschool program is recommended.
Families must provide an official birth certificate, baptismal certificate, immunization record, and preschool progress report.
HFRS will provide a preschool input form to be completed by the preschool teacher and returned prior to the child's screening.
Completion of an HFRS readiness screening with a Young 5 teacher is required.
Curriculum
Our curriculum nurtures the whole child — intellectually, spiritually, and creatively — covering religion, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, art, music, library, physical education, and free choice time. Young 5 students also grow through experiences that build Christian values, life skills, strong work habits, and a spirit of citizenship, laying a foundation that lasts a lifetime.
Teacher & Class Information
Our Young 5 classroom is led by a fully certified early childhood teacher with a full-time teacher assistant, maintaining an exceptional 9:1 student-to-teacher ratio. Every child is seen, supported, and encouraged to flourish.
Class Times
Classes meet Monday through Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., following the Holy Family Regional School calendar.

Young 5 students proudly follow the Holy Family Uniform Policy — a visible sign of our shared community and belonging in the tradition of Catholic education.
